We held a “Meet and Greet” event at the UC Davis Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics on Monday, September 17, 2018, for the formal presentation of a $5,300 scholarship to UC Davis Managerial Economics senior Kristen Chen.

The scholarship is the result of our participation in the second annual UC Davis Give Day, a 29-hour fundraising event held in April. We challenged UC Davis supporters to reach a goal of donating 20 gifts in support of the Agricultural and Resource Economics Student Support Fund. When the goal of 20 gifts was met, the $5,300 scholarship was unlocked for a Managerial Economics student who is passionate about financial wellness.

Professors and major advisors identified Managerial Economics major Kristen Chen as a high performing candidate for this scholarship, due to her passion for financial wellness and aspirations to become a financial analyst.

“This scholarship is very important to me to complete my final year at UC Davis, which brings me one step closer to becoming a financial analyst in the future,” said Chen.

Yolo Federal President and CEO Jenee Rawlings emphasized the importance of supporting financial wellness in our local community.

“At Yolo Federal Credit Union, our mission is to help members achieve financial success and build wealth, and for nearly 65 years we’ve been committed to the financial well-being of Yolo County,” Rawlings said. “We are honored to partner with UC Davis to provide a scholarship to students who share in the same philosophy. Kristen is a worthy recipient of this scholarship and we’re excited for what the future holds for her.”
